TeamViewer

When it comes to helping a friend or a family member over the phone with PC problems, 9 times out of 10, they attempt to explain the issue they are having, however, the more they say the more they confuse the GEEK minded. What works for me, is viewing the user's screen and troubleshooting then .

There are several tools for doing this but I like "TeamViewer".

The User simply downloads the software and has the option of installing it or just running it. Once a Password is given, and after a couple of clicks, the application is ready to go.

The software will then issue you an ID number. This number is a unique number (as a phone number) which would be needed by the person whom would be helping you remotely. Simply give the ID number and the Password you provided upon installing and then the GEEK helping you at this time would see your screen and see what is going on.(Both parties must be running team viewer to achieve this).

To enforce security and only after installing this product, change the password frequently to avoid unexpected visits (Remotely) by anyone.

Oh, yeah, it's FREE.
