You can now add or change the colors or font size of your signature, or insert images and links and also do basic alignments using the editor. If you just can't get used to the new Libraries feature in Windows 7, you can easily disable it with a registry hack—though we'd recommend learning about the benefits instead of disabling it.

In case you aren't sure what we're talking about, this article covers how to remove the Libraries link from the navigation panel, and completely disable the shell extension so you can't access them either.

Before you take the next step to disabling them, be sure to read our guide to understanding the Libraries feature in Windows 7, as well as our guide to changing out the Library icons with custom icons instead.

Disabling Libraries in Windows 7

If you're certain you want to disable them, here's how to do it. Just download, extract, and double-click on the DisableLibrariesFeature.reg file to disable them.

Close all open Explorer windows, or logoff, and then login again. At this point, the Libraries should be gone.

Note: normally we'd show you the complicated registry hack to accomplish this, but in this case there's a bunch of keys to deal with, and it's a mess. You can check out the .reg files for the details if you really want to.

To re-enable the Libraries feature again, you can use the included EnableLibrariesFeature.reg file.

AP reports today that T-Mobile USA could well be the next US carrier to get the iPhone, ending AT&T’s exclusivity deal with Apple. According to the AP, Apple-watcher Shaw Wu of Kaufman Bros. predicts that the iPhone will be available on other networks by this fall, with T-Mobile likely to get it first. Wu goes on to say that AT&T will lose its iPhone exclusivity by early next year at the latest.

Wu says that one of the main reasons Apple is likely to go with T-Mobile first is because its wireless technology is similar to AT&T’s, whereas Sprint and Verizon Wireless use a different standard, meaning that there would be more technical issues involved in getting the iPhone to run on their networks.

In conclusion, Wu states that Apple needs to choose another carrier soon, in order to keep pace with iPhone sales and compete with the new generation of phones that run on Google’s Android software."

How to Print Screen on a Mac: "

What is known as “Print Screen” in the Windows world is called screen captures or screenshots in Mac OS X. You’ve probably noticed there is no ‘Print Screen’ button on a Mac keyboard, this is to both simplify the keyboard and also because it’s unnecessary. Instead of hitting a “Print Screen” button, you’ll hit one of several keyboard combination shortcuts, depending on the exact screen capture action you want taken.

How to Print Screen to a file on the desktop in Mac OS X

The basic functionality of taking a screen capture of a window or desktop in Mac OS X takes an image and dumps it to a file on the Mac desktop:

Command+Shift+3: takes a screenshot of the full screen (or screens if multiple monitors), and save it as a file to the desktop

Command+Shift+4: brings up a selection box so you can specify an area to take a screenshot of, then save it as a file to the desktop

Command+Shift+4, then spacebar, then click a window: takes a screenshot of a window only and saves it as a file to the desktop

How to Print Screen to the Clipboard on a Mac

This functions a lot more like Print Screen in the Windows world. If you want to do the equivalent of Print Screen to the clipboard so that you can paste it into another app, these are the commands you’d want to use:

Command+Control+Shift+3: take a screenshot of the entire screen (screens if multiple monitors), and saves it to the clipboard for pasting elsewhere

Command+Control+Shift+4, then select an area: takes a screenshot of selection and saves it to the clipboard for pasting elsewhere

Command+Control+Shift+4, then space, then click a window: takes a screenshot of a window and saves it to the clipboard for pasting

Remember that the Command key on some older Mac keyboards has an Apple logo on it like this , but newer Mac keyboards will say ‘command’ on them. The command key is located next to the spacebar.

I was inspired to write this post because a colleague just posed this question to me: “Why is there no Print Screen button for Mac?”. I always cringe a little when I hear people talking about printing the screen in Mac OS because it’s a phrase straight from the world of Windows PC’s. With so many people switching to new Mac’s its no wonder the terminology is still prevalent. Once you show someone how to perform the screen capture with a keystroke they understand why there isn’t a need to over complicate the keyboard with unnecessary buttons.

If you’re an iPhone or Palm WebOS user and you’re itching to “beat the system” with Google Voice, your life just got easier thanks to the new web app version of Google Voice.

The web app offers easy access to your inbox, a keypad for dialing out from GV, text messaging, contacts, and settings. The contacts are those in your Google account, not on your device, but that’s not a problem if you sync the two.

It’s not as spiffy as a native version. The dial out process on the iPhone functions like tapping a phone number link, asking permission to dial out before doing so. The need for connectivity to get to it shouldn’t be too big a hindrance since you’ll need to be connected to place a call anyway, but I’m sure it will take a noticeable chunk of time if you’re not in a 3G area and there are more taps involved.

Keep in mind though, you don’t need an app to receive GV calls, and it’s possible to dial out through GV directly from your phone (made easier by saving the dial out in your contacts).

That's all there is to it, really—any YouTube video you want to download, just click on the YouTube logo in the lower-right corner of an embedded clip to get to the main YouTube page, then change the "Y" in YouTube.com to "3." Neat stuff, and it worked on all five of the test clips I sent its way.

Update: As our commenters point out, another URL-replacement service, KickYouTube, offers even more formats and features. If Kick goes down, or doesn't work for a certain video, though, having 3outube handy is a good thing—and 75 percent more efficient, in a very narrow way.

When I first started using Linux, back in the late 1990s and the Red Hat 5.2 era, the skills I gained weren’t very useful to many employers. WineBottler Turns Windows Programs into Standalone OS X Applications [Downloads]: "

Mac only: Wine has always been popular among Linux users for running Windows programs, but Wine is available for Mac, too—and now, free utility WineBottler can "bottle" Windows programs into separate application bundles that run as standalone Mac apps.

To use WineBottler, just download a Windows EXE, then drag and drop it onto the WineBottler app. You can install them in a fake C: drive located by default in your home folder, just as you would on Linux, and run them from there easily. However, if you want to create a standalone application bundle (so that you can give a Windows program to a fellow Mac user, for example), WineBottler will create a separate bundle with Wine included inside, so your friend doesn't have to have Wine installed—the app acts just like any other OS X app.

Note that just like in Linux, not all Windows programs work in Wine—so you'll have to see for yourself if the program you want to convert is compatible. (Notepad++ Portable, in the screenshot above, worked great.)

Windows: Windows 7 install discs are edition-specific—if you've got a valid license key, you still need the right disc for installation. The ei.cfg Removal Utility, however, lets you create a new, universal installation ISO for Windows 7.

Although your Windows installation disc may say "Home Premium Edition," it still contains the other versions (such as Pro or Ultimate) on the disc—it just has a very small file called ei.cfg that tells the disc what version to install. The ei.cfg Removal Utility creates a new ISO of your install disc that ignores this file, thus letting you choose what edition you want when you start the installer.

While this tool is especially useful for computer technicians who have to install Windows a lot, it's also nice to have for those of us that tend to lose discs often—especially in this day and age of emailed product keys. Now, if you need to reinstall Windows but can't find your disc, you can just borrow a friend's—even if it's an edition that's different than yours. You just need let the installer know which edition matches your product key (Note: Your disc still needs to be the same kernel as your key (i.e. 32 or 64-bit).

Over the many years of my career, I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to be involved in many charities and make a difference in someone's life.
Now, with the help of Athlete's for Hope and DC Scores, I have a great chance to raise money for a great cause. Over the next few weeks, I'm going to be going head-to-head with 60 other athletes in a race to see who can raise the most money for their favorite charity. I chose DC Scores, which is an incredible organization that utilizes soccer to teach kids valuable life skills such as respect, communication, and teamwork that benefit them off the field and in the classroom. Dating back to 1996 and the beginning of Major League Soccer/DC United/and DC Scores, Cindi and I were heavily involved with DC Scores from day 1.

Last month we broke the news that MySpace was acquiring music service iMeem, and that an agreement had been signed between the two companies.

All of that was accurate, including the $1 million fire sale price. But despite reports to the contrary, while the deal was signed it never closed (which explains why MySpace hasn’t announced it).

Sometime between signing and closing some problems came up in due diligence, we’ve heard. Specifically that some of the hard assets that MySpace was acquiring, hundreds of servers, were leased rather than owned. Meaning that MySpace couldn’t buy them.

The two sides have feverishly been renegotiating the deal, say our sources. At this point a deal may still be done in the next day or so at an even lower price than the $1 million. Or the deal may be terminated altogether (we’re hearing it’s likely some sort of deal will still happen).

It’s also always been unclear exactly how much capital iMeem raised to fund the company. We’ve tracked just $25 million in announced or leaked deals on CrunchBase. But we’ve heard the total is much closer to $80 million, including debt and pre-paid royalties to music labels. It’s clear that those investors aren’t seeing any return at all on that investment. Users, though, are still hoping the service lives on under MySpace.

Linux: Application launcher GNOME Do has a 'theme' called Docky that we rated as an intelligent Linux interface. Now Docky is available as its own application, bringing many of its best features over and setting the stage for many more.

Docky was a clever app for GNOME Do to integrate with, offering application launching and an OS X-like Dock from a single screen space. It was, however, not quite a perfect pairing, as it tied together a lot of of processes, and was somewhat inconsistent and slightly buggy in how it operated. As its own separate software project and app, it's free to develop, and even in the first alpha of 2.0 available, it's worth checking out as a desktop power tool.

The 'docklets' and plug-ins that were present in GNOME Do, like battery, CPU, and weather monitors are still around, while smart items like a Gmail notifier and recent documents icon have been added.
